Hours:             16 hours / week with possibility of additional hours in the role of a clinical supervisor if interested
Salary Range:  DOE

Alameda Family Services is a non-profit agency that provides comprehensive supportive services to youth, families and children, and adults in the City and County of Alameda.  These services include counseling for youth and their families; parent education classes; early childhood development and family services; drug and alcohol education, prevention and treatment programs; PC1000 Drug Diversion Program; co-ed anger management groups; groups for men involved in domestic violence; sliding scale fee counseling; school-based mental health programs; shelter, advocacy, crisis intervention and case management for runaway and homeless youth; high school health clinic; local community college.


COLLEGE OF ALAMEDA
College of Alameda is a community college located in the City of Alameda that offers academic programs to enable students to transfer to four-year colleges and universities, earn degrees and certificates in academic and occupational fields, prepare for positions in the workforce, improve their basic learning skills, and expand their general knowledge.

1.                  OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Program Director, this position is responsible for providing strength-based/solution focused psychotherapy, mental health education, and outreach services to students enrolled at the College of Alameda.


2.                  JOB DUTIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·         Provide brief individual and family therapy including assessment, referrals, and mental health psychoeducation.
·         Provide outreach to promote mental health services offered
·         Provide group therapy (e.g. stress management)
·         Provide substance abuse counseling and referrals
·         Maintain client records and data as required by Alameda Family Services and funding sources.
    Provide consultation to College of Alameda staff and faculty (ie in-services regarding recognizing and understanding mental health conditions/treatment, consultation regarding individual students, and presentations at staff meetings as well as classrooms on issues related to mental health).
     Provide consultation on and off site as needed by clients and their referral sources.
    Attend and participate in supervision with Program Director, case conference and other
meetings/events as designated by Program Director.      
    Provide billing invoices, reports and other documentation to Program Director weekly.
    Other duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

     Must have valid California License in Counseling, Psychology or related Social Services Field. PhD/Psy.D. desired.                                                         
           Experience and training in working at a college with transitional age youth, adults, and
 families.
    Experience and training in substance abuse/use counseling.
           Experience in providing outreach services and presentations with an understanding of
 systems approach to both therapy and community.  
           Cultural competence and experience working with ethnically and socio-economically
             diverse individuals and families.
           Flexibility, diplomacy, ability to negotiate to positive outcomes.
           Embraces a strength-based approach to clients, their families and systems.   
           Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.         
           Multi-lingual capacity (Cantonese, Spanish, or Vietnamese) required.
